Weeks of March 14-25, 2011

Sharing our American Hero Projects

It was fun to get together with Ms. Landefeld's first graders and share our reports on our American Heroes. We paired up with other students who studied the same hero and compared our reports. We were amazed at how much the same they were and excited to learn something new! We also performed our reader's theater production about the Wright Brothers.

Survey Says!

Collecting data and analyzing it has been a focus for us during Math Workshop. We especially like using clipboards when asking our survey question!

Mystery Reader

Our latest Mystery Reader brought some old favorites like Dr. Seuss and introduced us to new favorites too!

All About Books

We are becoming experts on a subject that we know lots about and writing all about it. When we are finished our books will have lots of the non-fiction text features such as a table of contents, chapters, diagrams and glossaries.

Love Notes for the Homeless

We continue to enjoy making "love notes" to go with sandwiches that A-SPAN delivers to our homeless neighbors in Arlington each month. Last month we made hearts and this month we decorated shamrocks. We have heard that these notes are very special to their recipients and they look forward to receiving them each month.
