We began a unit on non-fiction writing in Writing Workshop. We have been writing books that can teach the reader how to do something like how to draw a tree or play hockey or play the guitar. We each chose one of our books and read it to our writing partner to make sure we included all of the steps. It was fun to learn how to do new things. We have lots of experts in the classroom on a variety of skills!
